rooted in imagination

Ferntop Nature Preschool is a  unique, Christ-centered preschool, licensed by the state of Tennessee, on an eight-acre farm in rural Williamson County. Our students enjoy the benefits of an entirely outdoor education.

UPCOMING EVENTS

Sing and Play

Sing and Play is a rich experience for both caregiver and child (ages 3-5). Parents/Caregivers will be a part of a creative musical experience as we learn - not just in nature, but with nature.

The Herbalist & The Educator

Surrounded by an inspiring environment, you will experience the benefits of herbs to  support your family's physical and social/emotional needs. Join Melissa Vines of Along The Meadow, and Clare Nugent of Ferntop Nature School for an exciting series of  classes as we unpack using herbs in your home while drawing children into the imaginative possibilities of plants.

Homeschool Educators Event

Homeschool is a wonderful education choice for many families, but can be intimidating and overwhelming. Ferntop is happy to host 5 mother educators, with all levels of experience and educational philosophies, for a night of exploring this exciting way of educating. We will have a Q & A time with our panel, so come ready to ask questions!

OUR VALUES

Ferntop is built on these values and it is through these values that we view education:

Empathy

IMG_3053.jpg

We work to understand and share the feelings of ourselves, and one another. We also want to cultivate empathy within the context of the natural world, teaching children that they are caregivers, and their  loving attention makes a difference.

Community

IMG_3056.jpg

We share this inspiring and loving space with one another, and grow together; emotionally, cognitively, spiritually and physically, as our eyes are open to the world God has made.

Wonder

Because God has given us such rich imaginations, we are able to delight and become  connected to all that is around us. Our wonder drives our questions, our play and learning.

Play

Play is at the heart of all we do. We see play as the most important task a child has.  Children make sense of their world through play, and development, on every level, is enriched by play.
